There's no 'one-trick-pony' method that works with all phones, like how KingoRoot, Framaroot, IRoot, or King Root used to work (sometimes) back in the day... It's not so simple anymore... Some Android phones are just unrootable.. Even the following steps are just the general way its done, every phones different, so if you're going to attempt doing it yourself look it up on the XDA site and Google. You're most likely going to have to format your phone.
The real first step is BACK UP EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE!!! Be ready if shit goes wrong, maybe have the stock firmware on hand, ready to flash.. There's always the possibility of bricking your device, but if something does happen it's usually just stuck in boot loop and almost always easily fixed. Luckily I've never been faced with a problem I wasn't able to recover from.
1) gotta unlock the bootloader. Tap the 'build number' (options>about phone>software information) seven times til developer options is unlocked. In developer options, enable 'USB debugging' & 'Unlock OEM' (if you can; sometimes you have to unlock bootloader thru 'adb / fastboot' or using dialer codes) sometimes 'Unlock OEM' is greyed out or just not there.
2) install custom recovery. TWRP usually, see if there's an official version built for your phone
3) Magisk is probably what you're gonna need to root it.
You're gonna need to find the boot/recovery file within your device's stock firmware, the one currently on your device (going to need to download it online, make sure you get the right one), copy it to your phone/SD Card and patch it with Magisk. You can patch this file from any device with Magisk installed, doesn't need to be the one you're rooting.
4) Once you have the patched boot/recovery image, copy it to the SD Card in the phone you're rooting. Boot up the phone in recovery (TWRP), and flash it over. On some phones it's a good idea to format first before doing this part, format from within magisk tho. After the file is flashed, reboot to recovery and delete the cache and dalvik cache.
Thats pretty much all there is to it.
There's lots of ways to root Androids, each phone is different. Some harder to do than others.. Double check everything you're doing.. And remember to check the xda developer site, look your phone model up on there, double check you're doing everything right:
GSI Roms - almost all phones/tablets can do it.
Flash them thru custom recovery (TWRP), flash thru adb/fastboot, create special image with it (pain in the ass) and flash it thru Odin (Samsung), or if you're lucky and your phone was manufactured after Android 10: there should be an option in the developer options (the safest method).
Put "view-source:" before the address (without the quotes).
It would look like this:
view-source:www.se7ensins.com
Works with all browsers, but kinda hard to read cuz no way to turn on Word Wrap on most, so I recommend using Opera Browser when doing this.
